Drawing: The recording of measurements of at least a 2D nature

While it is a huge subject, one which I plan on delving into in subsequent, more philosophical posts, I’d like to move the direction of my musing more into the realm of Drawing.

It is a subject I hold very dear to myself; I wasn’t joking when I told a colleague that I liked how he spelt ‘Drawing’ with a capital ‘D’. Ultimately I see it as the backbone of creativity, the basic ability of being able to ‘Record’. Expanding on that, it is not just the recording of visual data, while the practise of such is a good development ground for gaining control of hand-eye coordination, modern philosophy surrounding drawing suggests it is much wider than that.

One of my goals this year was to move back into my original pursuit of Illustration. This post is what I hope the beginning of that move. To demonstrate where I am at, here’s some illustrations from the last couple of years, showing the limits of my explorations and development.
